Ive downloaded many games on the iPad, but this is one of the few that has really held my interest. Great game play for an retro style RPG.

Played for exactly 10 seconds- D-Pad implementation gives the feeling Of trying to make out with a drunk gorilla This game is probably fun, I wouldnt know The controls are so bad I couldnt find out.
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest with a new skin and forced writing designed to make 12 year-olds chortle and then, after they finish puberty, wonder why they were chortling.
Anyone who is a fan of Penny Arcade and/or classic RPGs will love this game. Well worth the money.
Wonderful writing, couldnt put it down, looking forward to the next (and first two?) installments!
How does this game not have more favorable views!? Great writing: check Original and meaningful mechanics: check Fantastic 16 bit inspired graphics: check A combat class that throw shoes: check The d-pad really is awful- but its only used for navigation. Enjoy this game- savor every dialogue box. Pray they make/release more.
Being a fan of the series I may have a bias, but anyone who enjoys a good challenging rpg with an associated humorous storyline will enjoy this game. When the third installment of PA was canceled on consoles I was heartbroken but this revived it and met all expectations. A++
I had thought about getting the game on other platforms but when it came to the iOS I was super excited. Great on the go gaming. Not to long of game play but completely enjoyable the while time.
Make the icon retina display. Its glossy.
Good game, but not as good as it should be: Brilliant, creative, classes and very well written storyline. But the controls continued to be a bit annoying. And by the end, the pixel art started to feel a little lacking, Especially considering who is developing the game.
Its been a while, and I recently reinstalled this thanks to them decreasing the games install size to a little over 700mb. This game grabs the mystery, paranormal, and RPG lover in me, and takes me on a fun adventure. Throw in great dialogue and very in-depth leveling/combat system, as well as sweet 16-bitish graphics, and Im hooked. Hoping they bring more games to iOS soon! Both TinkerHouse and Zeboyd Games.
I have no problem with the d-pad, but now the game randomly crashes and wont let me load my saved game. Please fix the bugs! I was really enjoying it!
Its amazing what the venerable RPG genre has become under Zeboyds guidance, in Penny Arcade 3 and 4 (and in Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World). And along with the impressive game mechanics youve also got entertaining Penny Arcade writing and characters. Watch for Penny Arcade 4 also. I hope its coming to iOS. I think its even better than this one.
Get steam account and buy part 4 :D sadly this will be the final one :( the penny arcade will always be remembered.
Maybe Gabe and Tychos characters are on the mark, but the rest of the game is crap. Hard to use thumbstick. Does confirm load when you might lose changes...bad if you tap too fast. Gameplay is just like every other Japanese NES based RPG...so the only selling point is the "characters". Little of interest here.
Loved every minute. They manage to deliver a great RPG that keeps things simple all while dropping smart parody and sarcasm. Controls make sense and deliver even if walking was a little awkward. One star short because the game is...well...short.
love this game, earthbound/final fantasy/penny-arcade, what better its better than an American made Mexican pizza!
Fantastic writing, even if your coming in with having played the previous two (although I recommend those as well). Mechanics are simple but with good number of different combination of abilities that you can challenge or simplify how you play very easily.
Nothing but weak boring battles. Save your money.
